Five flower essences to help you stay calm and balanced
Recently I read a blog post from Crystal Herbs who are the producers of the wonderful Bach Flower Remedy range we sell here in Australia.
I was so assured by the advice and information they provided that I had to share some of their insights with you.
Below are the excerpts I thought were most helpful, and I’ve shared them with the permission of Crystal Herbs in the hope it may help you feel more at ease and less vulnerable in this current global environment.
What Crystal Herbs say about the current coronavirus situation:
“…our world has been in a particularly unsettled, chaotic state for some time now, but despite this everyday life has continued to function with a reasonable degree of ‘normality’ for most people. However, this has now changed with the unexpected arrival of the coronavirus, a pandemic which is gradually turning everything upside down and rocking the foundations of everyday lives all around the world.
Internal Alarm Bells Go Off When We Feel Threatened
Changes on this scale are not something that humans in general respond to particularly well. Internal alarm bells go off when we see our everyday security being threatened by something apparently outside of our control. Fear, panic and anxiety follow, emotional responses that can be so strong they prevent us from seeing the reality of a situation.
Collective Fear Spreads Like a Virus
Collective fear works rather like a virus, in that it spreads fast and is not easy to contain once it gets going. It is a seductive energy that can pull you in very quickly and make it much more difficult to know what is best for you in any given situation.
This is because the vibration of fear is an imprint stored in both our personal emotional body and within the emotional body of the Earth. Take a moment to reflect upon the number of events in human history that have left an imprint of fear down the ages and you will see that memories of plague, famine, wars, sieges and massive earth changes are all archived experiences just waiting to be triggered off by anything that carries a similar vibration.
When this happens, we can find ourselves suddenly engulfed in fear and not be able to recognise that what we are feeling is not all about what is happening now. Simply keeping this in mind will make it easier to respond to the current situation in a proportionate way.
How To Stay Calm When Your Fear is Triggered
One of the most important things we can do for ourselves and for those around us right now is to stay calm and generate an atmosphere of balance and harmony. Holding the positive vibrations of balance and harmony with focus and intention will make a very big difference as we go through the next few weeks and months. Not only do these energies impact your own well-being, they also create a positive vibrational field that others can align with.
What is going on now is all part of the transformational process that we are going through as we create a new reality based in love rather than fear. Taking time out to breathe with awareness, ground and connect with yourself will greatly help you move through the challenges and opportunities of this time with ease and grace."
Bach Flower Remedies can help transform fears
Flower essences work on a vibrational level and are wonderful remedies for bringing harmony back into one’s being. They can help to transform difficult emotional states into their more beneficial counterpart – such as gloom into positivity, anxiety into calmness and confusion into clarity.
Here are the 5 Bach Flower Remedies recommended by Crystal Herbs for helping you transform a fearful state:
Revival Remedy is the Bach Flower Remedy combination for emergency situations. It is particularly helpful to take when you are feeling panicky, fearful or traumatised by an unexpected or emotionally stressful event. Revival Remedy is available in both dropper bottles and spray bottles as well as in a cream base with added Crab Apple and Pine.
Mimulus is for when you feel fearful or worried about your own health and safety, or are feeling scared of losing your income, home or any other everyday survival fears.
Red Chestnut brings peace when you feel fearful about the safety of other people, imagining that the worst is going to happen to your loved ones.
White Chestnut brings tranquility and inner stillness when your mind is over-active, and you can’t switch off from busy, unproductive thoughts.
Crab Apple is the essence for cleansing and purification. It can be taken internally or used externally in the bath or added to household cleaning products. Crab apple helps you to see things in perspective, particularly if you are someone who can be fussy, easily upset, get obsessive over details or make mountains out of molehills.
Bach Flower Remedies are particularly helpful when you are dealing with an acute state of discomfort, as they can quickly restore balance and can be taken every ten minutes if your emotions are very strong without any risk of overdose or side-effects.
Bach Flower Remedies Dosage Instructions
If taking a single essence remedy like one of the above, take two drops on the tongue every 30 to 60 minutes for acute states, otherwise do it eight times a day for chronic states. For more information see our How to Use Bach Flower Remedies information page.
How long will it take for the Bach Flower Remedies to work?
We recommend you take your Bach remedies for two to four weeks and then reviewing how you feel.
You may find you feel comfortable enough to reduce your dosage, or you may feel that you need a longer period of treatment. You may even feel that the particular remedy you chose has run its course and its time to swap it for a new remedy.
Generally, over a six month period you will find subtle but noticeable shifts in how you respond to situations that historically would have elicited unpleasant responses from you. Even old memories that may have upset you in the past may no longer have the same effect on you when recalled.
Wishing you the best in wellbeing, peace and harmony,
